MIKAVI BACKSTORY

heres the backstory to the mikavi and how they got to where they are now!!

Mikavi once lived on a planet called OMNITERA-49X. It was the Mikavi home planet with a thriving ecosystem of colorful plants, alien animals and fruits, little technology due to their abilities and powers, it was a peaceful and tranquil world. Less gravity and oxygen, lush, tall, thick forests with buildings built onto the long branches to act as cities, homes for the Mikavi. With thick, deep, oceans that stretch for miles, brimming with alien aquatic life.The population of Mikavi was run by a single ruler, named OMNIkavi, loyal and trusted by all his disciples, he was respected and loved. He was the main man, always making the big decisions for the species.One fateful day, another species from another planet came to commence war on the Mikavi, OMNI their leader “had no idea why”, leading him to resort to relocation, as their carefully crafted ecosystem was being torn apart at the seams. During the relentless attack and fighting amongst the species, omni went searching, finding the nearest planet closest to their own, named earth.OMNI took it upon himself to gather as many of the Mikavi as he could, flying through space to reach this new planet in hopes to protect their species from such violent attacks.Landing on earth with force, like a meteor, the balled up omni uncurled, releasing their species to explore this new planet, of course the smaller Mikavi, unlike their leader who could handle the change in gravity n such, melted into puddles, becoming disoriented and confused, but after an hour or two they adapted well, some exploring the forest wildlife, some traveling to the nearby civilizations. These civilizations only responded to the Mikavi with panic, confusion and near violence. Leading the Mikavi who weren't captured to retreat back to the forest, to their leader for protection.OMNI seemed to understand this planet is not accustomed to people not from their planet. He took the initiative to inform his species to hide, as clear, while this planet is not too welcoming, it was the closest thing they could find like their home planet. And it stayed like that up to the current day, as the Mikavi learned to adapt to this new way of life. Blending into the human populus or animals and nature scattered across the planet.the official move from omni to earth was 60,000 - 90,000 years ago.

WHAT ARE MIKAVI??

the text below shows what mikavi are, their anatomy, weakness's and strengths, ect ect.most of what you need to know about a mikavi that makes them a mikavi!

GENERAL BIOLOGY

Mikavi are best known for their almost liquid-solid like bodies. Solid colors and well, shapeshifting abilities.These creatures have no organs, bones, muscles or distinct blood like humans, moreso functioning like living oobleck with a mind of its own. They seem to be rather uniform as they don't have distinct hair-skin most of the time, it all being the same thing. They also seem to have shoes for feet(although the toe of the shoe can split into two toes, given em feet with 4 toes like a reindeers hoof. they simply made it look such a way after the move to earth, seeing humans wearing shoes all the time.). These guys are built like blood bags made of skin.They can stretch and squash, melt and split like liquid, while also being stiff, like a solid, they can control every atom of their body, unless they are experiencing an emotion or feeling too extreme. In such a case they could melt, shake or break apart, depending on the mikavi.Mikavi naturally recognize their leader just by a scent the leader gives off to only the mikavi, seeing said leader as a figure of protection and guidance, almost like a dad/mom.The longer a mikavi lives, the stronger they can get depending on their situation or circumstances. Take laze for example, hes been around for a very long time, being the oldest mikavi currently alive, and he is considered to be omnipotent because of this. Or example, stubby. Hes an older gen 1 mikavi, and hes rather difficult to take down or defeat due to his strength he got from age and the way his life has played out

Design Notes

  • Mikavi generally have 1 Primary color and/or 1-3 Secondary colors on their body, whether that be gradients, patterns, ect ect. But one color always dominates the rest. (this does not include clothing) [ex: stubby: primary color- green gradient, secondary color- purple | nermal: primary color- purple, secondary color- blue | laze: primary color- brown gradient, secondary color- none he's just brown ]

  • Mikavi can have a max height of 12 ft, while eating or consuming something can add to their mass, it is temporary, they will always shrink back down to their original height.

  • Mikavi can have a max of 7 limbs total, whether it be four arms, 3 legs, two tails(tails are an uncommon trait). Ect ect. 7 is the max amount, more than normal limb amount is rare. A mikavi can also be born with a neck, it being an uncommon feature (50% chance), sometimes mikavi can be born missing limbs(rare trait)

  • The Max amount of facial features a mikavi can have is 8, 8 being the rarest amount and 3 being the most common amongst the species, most common facial features seen is 2 eyes and one mouth. The higher number of facial features become rarer. A very uncommon trait for mikavi is if one of their facial features are replaced with a symbol or item. Whether it be a heart, flowers, mouth ect ect.

  • Sometimes mikavi can be born conjoined, accidentally half splitting into 2 mikavi stuck together, the way mikavi are conjoined can fluctuate. They can disconnect but only for a very short amount of time before needing to reconnect into one.

WEAKNESS'S & STRENGTHS

Weaknesses

the weakness's of the mikavi, the mikavis tolerance can fluctuate depending on the mikavi, but they are never immune to any weakness

  • Extreme temperatures (hot & cold) | Extreme heat, like with snow, can make a mikavi melt into a puddle like state, making it difficult for the mikavi to keep its shape, leaving them in a dizzy, hazy state mentally. they’d be stuck as a dizzy puddle till they cool down. | Extreme Cold, it can make a mikavi stiff, nearly unable to move. Rendering them vulnerable to any attacks.

  • High pitched sounds, like dog whistles can be agony to the ears of an unsuspecting mikavi. Yowch. It can also slightly disrupt their ability to keep their form steady, leading them to becoming wobbly and prone to melting or breaking apart

  • Certain smells are prone to sending mikavi into severe states of nausea and fatigue, confusion and paranoia (this usually leads to fainting). These specific smells are bleach, very potent perfumes, and chlorine.

strengths

The strengths of the mikavi, strength can slightly fluctuate depending on the mikavi

  • Mikavi generally have a rather malleable form, meaning blunt force doesn't affect them as much as it would a normal human. They are just overall more durable, flexible, and agile due to the fact their bodies aren't stuck to one state.

  • Mikavi can't be choked out or suffocated like humans, considering they take in oxygen through their skin.

  • Mikavi have the ability to shapeshift on default, but the more complicated the shift the harder it is to change into said form. They can change color, material, scent, ect ect (i will note now while they can change scent there will be a lingering scent mikavi will always have. It is reminiscent of the smell of pine needles), mikavi generally aren't limited in shapeshifting other than if the shift is complicated or not.

  • Mikavi can indeed split into several pieces, and control said pieces,but that would also mean the mikavis brain would be fragmented between pieces. (if the mikavi does not reform after a day/2 then the pieces could die.)

SPLITS & SWITCHES

Splits and switches are a subspecies of mikavi, that don't really actually have a real independent, physical form, while they do sometimes, in no way is it ever permanent or long lasting (some are exceptions). Some good examples of such things are, the main mikavi, and their counterparts of which they are tied to physically, and sometimes mentally. They are connected to the host mikavi, some are less connected than others, but always connected. These sub-mikavi tend to have some sort of resemblance to the host mikavi.Not every mikavi will have a split and/or switch, some, like auto or ceecee, wont have one its an uncommon thing a mikavi could gain at any point in time, there isn't a specific date, age ect ect that a split/switch can form.

Splits

A split is a sub-mikavi that can physically split from the host mikavi. Giving them a temporary body they can use and control at will.Good examples of this is:
Jow- Suppression & Obsession | Stubby- Torment | DJ- Demotivation.They are more physical, and behave as their own person. They are physically tied to their host, often times being able to feel what the other feels as if they are the one being touched/stabbed/punched ect ect(it can go the other way round as well). These splits can only be out for a certain amount of time max, while this limit can fluctuate depending on the mikavi. They can usually never be out for long ass periods of time.

Switches

A switch is a sub-mikavi that switches out with the host-mikavi.Good examples here are:
Nermal- Overstimulation | jesse- DreadedOne | Liam- BrokenHeartThey don’t have physical bodies they can use at any time like splits do, instead. They take the place of the host, the host physically turning into the switch. either these sub-mikavi are just the host in a severely altered mindstate, or become a completely different person overall. (EX: stubby and ego, while considered host and switch, are separate people mentally, but nermal and overstimulation are still considered the same person mentally despite being a host and switch.)
Like splits, switches are connected to their host mikavi, more connected than splits. After a switch, some mikavi may experience amnesia, the memories of what transpired to be hazy, or they just don't remember it at all, only able to recall everything going black. Some mikavi however can remember everything that happened during the switch, the level of amnesia can fluctuate greatly.

POWERS

Mikavi have a rare chance of being born with a power or ability , what these powers are could fluctuate, it cannot be passed down to offspring mikavi, it's gained purely by chance/luck. 20% chanceGood examples of powers are:
Grim: he has the ability to predict death, how someone will die, where is will happen, ect ect. Often making him a bad omen when hes sticking around for seemingly no reason. | auto: he has the ability to do anything to perfection as long as he does pay too much attention to what hes doing, like being on autopilot. | Stubby: his ability is hes the most acidic thing anyone has ever seen, his bodily fluids contain acidic compounds that can dissolve anything it comes in contact with.No power is the same, every power a mikavi has is unique in their own way. Its generally never OP per say, the only exception is the mikavi leader, who gained the omnipotent ability after being the leader for so long.
Of course there are some powers that a mikavi can have aside from this power, like floating (not to be confused with flight), teleportation, telekinesis, ect ect. They are generally very simple powers that don't really do much damage. It's extremely rare for a mikavi to have an extra power or two.splits and switches can have powers of their own, while much less powerful than the host mikavis, they are still usable, usually being most affective on the spilt/switches host mikavi.

GENERATIONS

There are two distinct generations of mikavi, Generation One, and Generation Two, they have distinct differences that make them different from each other, despite looking identical

Generation 1

The first generation of mikavi are mikavi who were alive since before the move to earth. Having lived on OMNITERA. The are naturally stronger, more durable, and overall built better naturally then generation 2. This generation is immortal, not being affected by age.

Generation 2

The second generation of mikavi are mikavi who were created after the move to earth, being made ON earth. While still strong, they aren't as strong n equipped as the first generation, they aren't immortal either, only being able to really live for around 10,000 years before their body gives out due to unknown reasons. Melting into nothing but a puddle to be soaked up into the dirt n whatnot.

THE PLANETS

here we have the two main planets that the mikavi have lived on throughout the past up till current time. OMNITERA-49x and Earth.this section will likely have very short descriptions till my brain cooks enough for the planets

OMNITERA - 49X

all that is really known about this planet, based on what mikavi have said, its a lush, colorful planet full of alien plants and fruits, deep, refreshing oceans and floating islands, with less gravity and oxygen than earth, it was a beautiful planet. most mikavi remember it fondly.

EARTH

this earth is not like ours, its a version of earth that's around the 2000's era (like before covid) when the memes were good n shit,pollution had not yet become
a huge issue yet, technolagy wasn't as advanced, ai wasn't THAT big of a problem. the world was decent. minus the mikavi hunters that patrol the streets every other week. the main city is bustling with life too, people going to work, kids at the park, mikavi hidden in between.the city aint all bad, as long as your dont get caught.

CANON CAST

these are the main characters or well, canon cast of the mikavi lore. they have their own sections with some information about said characters.

while not all info is there it can be added later on and suchbtw if you see "old" by the images in the gallerys, its likely their old design, meaning they have a newer design that hasnt been made public yet (it will when their reference is put onto the doc)

NAME: Laze (OMNIkavi)

DESCRIPTION:

Laze is the all father to the mikavi, their one and only leader. He's a soft soul, never resorting to violence unless he truly needs to. he makes room for anyone kind enough. and will try to never cross boundaries, he cares for all his children big and small, even if he gets annoyed or frustrated with some.. He still cares for them greatly, and if you call his name loud enough he will always respond.

TRIVIA:

  • He tries to love all of his kids equally, and views any mikavi his children no matter who they are, yes some get on his nerve sometimes like overthinking (who he often has to tell off) but he still loves them regardless

  • Due to being scrunched up in such a small form, hes often considered lethargic, not having much energy to do much other than float around and visit his kids every once in awhile

  • He lives in a beachhouse by the shore, its quiet and not many humans visit there so its a good place for him and other mikavi who just want to relax away from the city

  • He doesnt do anything about the captured mikavi, infact he even stops other mikavi from helping those who got captured recently, he studders and chokes up everytime someone interrogates him about it.

  • Lucious is one of the mikavi who visit him often, he even pays for the beachhouse for laze so he has somewhere to go.

  • He gets a bit upset when a mikavi backtalks him when hes trying to help, he still keeps trying though.

  • laze often hummed to comfort the young mikavis whenever theyve gotten upset, he doesnt do it much anymore, but he still will when needed.

  • hes way more powerful than you think, able to turn a live missile into a barrage of bubbles and butterflies with just a mere glance.

NAME: Jesse

DESCRIPTION:

Jesse is the kind one of the house, working a normal 9 - 5 Tech job, he seems to get along well with most of the people he crosses, having best adapted to the human lifestyle. he doesnt push or prod and will always lend a hand. of course he will be strict if need be. he cares alot about his friends, including his dog, daisy.

TRIVIA:

  • he spends most of his day in his human disguise. going to work around other humans.

  • He has a dog, she's an underweight rescue great dane with scars named daisy, shes a sweet girl.

  • The floor of the building he works in knows hes a mikavi, and choose to help him hide considering hes such a good and nice employee

  • He doesnt ever get angry, he finds it dangerous when he does.

  • He cares alot for liam, often spends his day with him on holidays so liam doesnt feel left out or lonely (he also invites auto along)

  • he likes to buy things that are on sale, as it saves him money

  • he likes to wear dark colors (it makes his pale skin look more pale)

  • people report feeling uncomfortable, scared, or that they feel a lingering sense of dread when jesse begins to get angry

  • jesse likes tuna sandwiches, he doesnt know why, they just taste good to him.

  • hes grown rather acustomed to the new human life, finding it rather easy to hide as a human

  • he knows how to cook, often making fried noodles for jow

  • cannibalism makes him sick.

Lucious is one of the newer generations, having been born here, hes living a life of luxury, with his own brand. people love him, being a celebrity n all. he may seem snobbish and stuck up to some from a distance, but get close enough and you will see hes actually quite generous, sharing his wealth with his friends when they are in need.

TRIVIA:

  • he's a celebrity, hiding as a human

  • he has many fans and followers who like him alot

  • some people think hes rude, greedy and selfish bc hes rich, and he acts kinda posh. but hes actually quite nice, acting like charlotte la bouff from princess and the frog but less enthusiastic and energetic

  • no one really knows what his eyes look like under those glasses..

  • lucious has a minumim amount of 500 dollars in pocket money at all times.

  • he has a pet cat, a white one. she hides in his fancy coat most of the time, the cats name is petunia

  • his favorite color is gold, or dandelion yellow

  • he only wears fancy or neat clothing.

  • whenever people try to pry the glasses from his face it never seems to budge.

Tawny is the only micro-Mikavi, being a lot smaller than the average species. His vocal chords are too small to produce any real voice, so rather he makes squeaks and squeals as a way to communicate. Tawny is one of the more younger Mikavi, only ranging about 60,000 years. Tawny is extremely food driven/ motivated, and will snack on almost anything he can

DESCRIPTION:

ah, stubby. the grumpy mikavi punk with an " i hate the world" "all of you suck" attitude. he's a very closed book, with a short temper too. don't try to mess with him unless you want an earfull and a spikey fist to the face. He keeps to himself, and minds his own business, never letting anyone get too close. He doesnt take shit from anyone. especially people he hates. Its pretty hard to get on his good side, so consider yourself lucky if he calls you a friend.

TRIVIA:

  • He can play many different instruments (mainly consisting of guitars, drums, electric violins, keytars, ect ect)

  • he has a lot of free time on his hands. alot

  • He smokes. alot. people often tell him its bad when hes in human disguise but he doesnt care.

  • He throws a massive angry fit when someone takes his things and will refuse to calm down, acting hostile and stubborn till his things are given back to him, even then it takes time for him to properly calm down.

  • Stubby has a second pair of eyelids, but he rarely uses them due to the fact he doesnt really need them most of the time because he has his petal-esc eyelids closed (yes he can see with them closed)

  • Hes got the same vibe/mentality as regect from that one minecraft arg

  • He cannot handle being called cringe, It hits him hard, real hard. he HATES it.

  • He knows how to drive a car, and how to drift said car

  • He does his best not to appear "weak", "vulnerable" or "soft" in front of anyone. only time he ever does is when hes in his apartment. (this also goes for being emotional or crying)

  • Stubby can breakdance

  • he has a short temper and could snap easily, but sometimes he also couldnt give a rats ass (nonchalant type shiz). its a 50/50

  • The only person completely unaffected by his acidic bodily fluids is laze.

  • he actually likes to draw, but only in his apartment behind a locked door, he will never let others see his drawings, he never talks about it so no one should know anyways

  • hes not as mean to kids, more just tolerative than anything, though he still doesnt like kids (atleast kids he doesnt know)

  • his body is covered in small, smooth scales.

  • he doesnt talk about the weird tentacles on his back.

  • when hes super super upset or angry, his eyes dialate, growing huge and dark, almost filling his eyes completely, he starts to act primal or feral during this, its very difficult to calm him down.

  • he has haphephobia, its mainly linked to the area around where his neck should be, and his head. its a very good one way ticket to overstimulating him and making him snappy

  • He doesnt know how to regulate his emotions often shutting down emotionally when something makes him intensely happy n other positive emotions, just responding nonchalantly with a small response, same for sadness, but he stays silent.

  • he makes animalistic noises sometimes, quietly growling when angry, or whining when hurt.

  • hes a maladaptive daydreamer, but hes quick to snap out of his zoned out state pretty quickly, though when hes zoned out, sometimes he giggles n snickers, no one knows why and he gets upset anytime anyone comments on it, brushing them off.

  • he shuts down anyone who talks about ceecee, or asks about her. he mood dropping to the floor instantly for a good few hours, maybe the whole day

  • grim refers to him as a cannibal, no one knows why

DESCRIPTION:

Jow is a lonely Mikavi wearing his friend who got stuck in a cape shape, he don’t know how to do a lot of things due to him used to depend on his friends most of the time before they are gone. He willing to learn if someone is there to teach him. He often turn into a cat to beg for human food whenever he is hungry and it’s one of the way he get some interaction from other living beings. He don’t want to shapeshift into a human form due to the fear of people ragonizing him and capture him.

TRIVIA:

  • his favorite food is fried noodles

  • jow often turn into a cat to get food from people on the street, mainly getting food from jesse or DJ

  • he likes to climb trees or watch animals when he isnt doing anything.

  • jow has a fondness for cats

  • he observes the city life often, but too shy to actuually approach any human in a human disguise

If someone approaches him to talk, he'll probably get scared or nervous. He spends most of his time learning new things to forget the past. He loves his friends and animals. He doesn't go out often because of his fear of Mikavi hunters; he only goes out if someone accompanies him.

Nermal is your stereotypical nerd, always doing something that involves intense calculations and formulas. he dabbles in mathematical fields and scientific studies in his freetime. He actually has a rather curious side, too curious.. often dissecting random creatures alive in order to understand their anatomy and the way their body functions differently than his own, hes so good infact he can stick them right back up and send them out the door alive and well.

TRIVIA:

  • hes very smart, very easily able to understand most things people would struggle with.

  • He likes to dissect people and animals in order to understand their anatomy and bodily functionality better. but dont worry, hes learned how to stitch them back up in such a way they recover just fine.

  • hes a tinkerbell, often liking to take things apart and put them back together to understand them. he also likes to make trinkets and little gizmos out of random stuff

  • he is often very curious about things he has never seen before

  • nermal lives in a collage dorm, using the collage he managed to get into as a way to learn more about the world around him

  • He often likes to go into the forest to watch the animals and learn how they move, he's taken a liking to chickens, having a form based off of them he resorts to sometimes simply for fun

  • He knows his antics scare some people

  • he likes to collect the tumors he finds in people to study them

The sweet and silly auto!! He's the perfect guy to call on for help! never letting down a person in need he will get your task done lickity- split! of course as long as he doesnt focus on his work, he works better on autopilot anyway. he is always up to making new friends no matter who they are! just... dont call him a robot.. hes not..

TRIVIA:

  • he dislikes being called a robot, he never was in the first place, he just looks like one

  • he doesnt have to use a human disguise, he just puts up with being called a robot or a good robot costume.

  • hes got a very young personality, but he is mature when it comes to serious situations

The Death omen himself, stay cautious when hes around, especially when hes looking at you. you never know if your the reason he's there. he is the silent harbinger of death people say, demise always following where he goes. It's best to listen to him if he gives you any hints, unless you want that moment to be your last.

  • no one knows what he looks like under that cloak.

  • he often travels on his floating scythe, people often say he got it from laze

  • hes the quiet type, never speaks, so people rarely see his with his mouth
